This downtown Beaufort, SC home was constructed in 1875. It has been sensitively restored so that you feel like you're stepping back in time but with modern amenities. Located in a park-like setting with striking flower gardens, it's super convenient. Located in the heart of the historic district, you can walk to award-winning eateries, cute bars (Old Bull Tavern is two blocks away), Waterfront Park, shopping, art galleries, the gourmet grocer, and all wedding venues. Spanish Moss cycling and pedestrian walking trail is less than a mile away. Start your morning with coffee and country ham biscuits on the first-floor veranda, watch the horse drawn carriages pass by, and savor meeting friendly locals out for a walk. In the evenings, step out on the second-floor veranda, appreciate a toddy, the sounds of birds, and glimpse the moon rising over Beaufort. Given the age of this home, it is not a suitable venue for kids under the age of 13. The inside staircase is original to the home, is steep, and not suitable for people who are fall risks. Strategies to get the best rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Beaufort, SC area. Book your Beaufort, SC vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.

Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.

  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
