Our top Vacation rental tips:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
