Tips for getting the perfect Beaufort, SC vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To get the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book the perfectvacation home:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Enjoy 25% Off 3+ Night Stays in South Carolina Sea Island Vacation Rentals This Jan & Feb! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. Otherwise, email the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
