Strategies to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Book your Beaufort, SC rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to pick the perfect vacation home in Fripp Island:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Walking Distance to Beach! Resort Access Included - New to VRBO has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
