Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation home experience:
When to visit Fripp Island & When to book:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To book the best rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 142 Capt John Fripp Villa - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC attraction you long to visit, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
