Tips to get the best rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summertime is high season in Port Royal. Book your rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book a perfect Beaufort, SC rental home:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. The Mariners House- Fully renovated kitchen coming November 2024! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
- If there's a particular Beaufort, SC beach you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.

- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it.
