Our top Fripp Island rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting the perfect rental in the Beaufort, SC area:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Fripp Island\/Multi Family Friendly\/ Dog Friendly\/Spacious 3rd Row home\/6 Seater Golf cart incl\/-703 Amberjack has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Call the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
