Tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • To find the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.

  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
