Booking the best Beaufort, SC vacation property experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your contract.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
