I have been visiting Fripp Island since the late 1970's with my family. I have since continued that tradition by bringing my family and now my grandchildren. We appreciate the great family ambiance Fripp has to offer. We savor all of that Fripp has it to offer for all ages. It is impressive how calming it is riding around the island in a golf cart. If you visit, you will adore it too.
When this unit came on the market in early 2022, we decided to make the purchase. We have been renters of this villa for many, many years! We appreciate the location for the simple beach access and having the pool right outside the door.
We have made some updates to the unit, we hope you enjoy them-- 3 new Intelligent TVS, new couches, and window treatments.

Getting the best vacation property experience:
Finding the best value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- To start, have your group agree to date ranges and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Best Location on Island - 314 Captain John Fripp has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is right for your group.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
