West End is one of the best locations in Beaufort--You're only 15-20 min. walk to downtown and ~5 min. walk to the Spanish Moss Trail. The neighborhood is peaceful with older cottages and new builds in the area. A great area to ride bicycles and discover the area.
You can fit two cars in the driveway. Please do not park on the stepping stones or in the yard. Uber/Lyft can be tough but there are local taxi companies you can reach out to if needed. A bicycle would be ideal for the area too.
- If there’s an issue or something breaks, just let us know as soon as it happens. We are much more lenient if you do so.

Finding the best rental experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Book your Beaufort, SC vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. The Driftwood Cottage has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a particular Beaufort, SC destination you long to visit, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
