Booking the best vacation rental experience:
When to visit Beaufort & When to book:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.
How to select the best vacation rental in Beaufort:
- Select a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. COZY DOWNTOWN BEAUFORT COTTAGE has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
