Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Fripp Island. To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Beaufort, SC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the best rental in the Beaufort, SC area:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 327 Capt John Fripp Villa - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If not, email the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, SC beach you love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
