Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 343 Captain John Fripp Villa - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your family.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
