Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect rental home in Fripp Island:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 343 Captain John Fripp Villa - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
