Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and choose the perfect Beaufort, SC rental:

  • Start by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. FrippLife, Pet Friendly, Golf Cart Included - 707 Bluefish has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, call the host before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, SC beach you love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. message the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
