Our top Beaufort, SC vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to visit Fripp Island & When to book:
- Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To find the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect rental home in the Beaufort, SC area:
- Begin by choosing your trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Ground Floor Ocean Front 2 Bedroom Villa, Golf Cart Included 413 Captain John Fripp has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
