How to get the best Beaufort vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Historic Home Located in historic district of Beaufort, SC has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- If there's a certain Beaufort, SC attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
