Getting the best Beaufort, SC vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Beaufort, SC rental home:
- To start, have your group commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Luxury Home Minutes to Base & Downtown - Sleeps 9 has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
