Tips and Tricks to get the very best Beaufort, SC rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental in the Beaufort, SC area:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Secluded retreat with private dock and fire pit. Only steps from the beach! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
