Our top Fripp Island vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to go & When to reserve a Fripp Island rental home:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- To get the best rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Beaufort, SC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. New Rental, Lake Home, Newly Renovated, Golf Cart Included , two king master suites has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
