Finding the best rental home experience:
When to reserve a Beaufort, SC rental home & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback.
