How to book the best rental experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select a group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Luxury Oceanfront with Panoramic Views, Golf Cart Included has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a certain Beaufort, SC attraction you are enamored with, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
