Tricks and tips for getting the best Beaufort rental experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserve your Beaufort, SC vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by having your family commit to vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Superior King Room at The Emerald has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the host before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
