Strategies to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. To book the largest rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting and booking a perfectvacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 501 Sunsuite - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If not, email the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Beaufort, SC beach you love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
