Tips to get the optimal rental experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Summer is high season in Fripp Island. To book the best vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 313 Ocean Point - Resort Access Always Included! has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If not, reach out to the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
