Tips to get the perfect Fripp Island vacation home experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- To find the best value, try shifting your family's Beaufort, SC vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the perfect vacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. 313 Ocean Point - Resort Access Always Included! has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.
Additional considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. text the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
