Tips and Tricks for getting the best Fripp Island vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best vacation rental:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Fripp Island. Amenity cards available, bikes, golf cart, neighborhood pool. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
