Get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Fripp Island. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
