Our top Rental home booking tips:
Getting the best rental value:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Beaufort, SC vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Downtown on Spanish Moss Trail\/fenced in! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
