Getting the best Beaufort rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Downtown on Spanish Moss Trail\/fenced in! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Beaufort, SC attraction you are crazy about, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
