Booking the best Fripp Island vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Snowbirds Special 35% off Dec, Jan, Feb only has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your trip.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
