Tricks and tips for getting the perfect rental home experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your Beaufort, SC vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Newly Renovated LowCountry Cottage with Marsh Views - Sleeps 6 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
