Strategies to get the very best rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Beaufort, SC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the perfect rental in the Beaufort, SC area:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. BEST VIEW ON THE ISLAND has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your trip.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
