Strategies for getting the best Beaufort, SC vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to pick the best rental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 721 Sea Dragon Lane - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, SC beach you long to visit, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. text the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
