Rental home tips and tricks:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Beaufort, SC restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the perfect vacation home:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Our Fripp Getaway, 6-Seat Golf Cart Included, Pets Considered, Neighborhood Pool, 239 Deerfield Court has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation family.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a particular Beaufort, SC attraction you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Know before you go:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
