Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

How to pick the best vacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Villa with sunrise views. Watch dolphins from your private balcony! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, SC destination you simply love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
