Tips for getting the perfect vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Summer months are high season in Fripp Island. To get the best rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Oceanfront Villa with sunrise views. Watch dolphins from your private balcony! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
