Strategies for getting the best Beaufort, SC vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning and picking the rightrental:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Center Island - 130 Captain John Fripp has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
