Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Start by having your group decide on trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 344 Capt John Fripp Villa - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
