Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best value:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Beaufort, SC attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 26 Davis Love - Cozy Cottage - Owner Cart Incl has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
