Fripp Island rental property booking tips:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is high season in Fripp Island. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 355 Ocean Point Drive - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Beaufort, SC destination you are crazy about, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
