Strategies for getting the best Beaufort, SC vacation property experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Summer months are high season in Fripp Island. To find the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your Search:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. New to VRBO - Resort Access Included - Located ON Ocean Creek Golf Course! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If there's an individual Beaufort, SC attraction you love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
