Tips and Tricks for getting the best Beaufort, SC rental home experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are high season in Fripp Island. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking yourrental:

  • To start, have your family select the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. 446 Tarpon Blvd - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
