Our top Fripp Island vacation rental home tips:
Finding the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 652 Newhaven Court - Ocean Views and 6 seat golf cart included has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
