Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Summer is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
