Beaufort, SC rental property booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to select the perfect vacation rental:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Cozy Cottage + Yard, Near Downtown, Parks & Trails, 15 min to Parris Island has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's an individual Beaufort, SC beach you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
