Tips to get the optimal Beaufort, SC rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Summer is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserve your Beaufort, SC rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and pick the right Beaufort, SC rental home:

  • Start by having your group agree to the best dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Cozy Cottage + Yard, Near Downtown, Parks & Trails, 15 min to Parris Island has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your group.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
