How to get the best Beaufort vacation rental experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Book your rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:

- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Habersham Retreat on Abbey Row has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.

During your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.

- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
