Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, SC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the perfect vacation rental:
- First, have your family decide on vacation dates and a budget.

- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your agreement.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC attraction you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home.
