Tricks and tips to get the perfect Beaufort, SC vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Finding the best rental:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Beachy Bungalow- walk downtown, close to MCAS, and Parris Island! has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- If there's an individual Beaufort, SC destination you simply love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
