Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Fripp Island. Book your Beaufort, SC vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

- Start by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Gorgeous 3 Bedroom Golf\/Beach Cottage, Includes a Golf cart, 28 Davis Love has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
- If there's a particular Beaufort, SC destination you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental.
