Tips to get the perfect Beaufort rental experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Beaufort. To get the largest rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, SC restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Charming Beaufort Cottage with Marsh Views and Hunting Island Beach pass has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
