Tips to get the perfect Beaufort vacation property experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Historic home centrally located on The Point in Beaufort's Historic District has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC beach you simply love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
