Tips to get the very best rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are high season in Fripp Island. Book your Beaufort, SC rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- To start, have your group agree to trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 823 Bonito Road - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
