Tips and Tricks for getting the best Port Royal vacation home experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserve your vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning, picking, and booking the perfect Beaufort, SC rental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 4 mi. to Beaufort Waterfront and Parris Island ????????- ???? Pit - Porch w\/ Grill has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, SC attraction you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your invoice.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
