Booking the best vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Beaufort, SC attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Choosing and booking the perfect Beaufort, SC vacation home:

- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. BEAUTIFUL ocean views from 2nd row beach home, includes a golf cart, club cards available. has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
