Getting the best vacation home experience:
When to book a Beaufort, SC rental & When to go:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in Fripp Island. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the best rental home in the Beaufort, SC area:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Cast your Cares Aside for a Bye Week! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
During your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
