How to book the best Beaufort, SC vacation home experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Fripp Island. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Beaufort, SC trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 700 Winter Trout - Four Bedroom House, Sleeps 10 has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking your rental. • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.

  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
